Musing Mondays #5: Bloggers Commenting Back

Hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading, Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.

• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).

• What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it!

• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.

• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!

• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

My musing this week is ... a recommendation!

Readers in Wonderland

Lets face it, commenting back is a conflicting issue. On the one hand, who doesn't love seeing the lovely number next to their post title indicating that an interested soul (or fellow blogger as the case may be) has taken the time to not only read your words but give feedback in their comments. On the other hand, replying to comments and commenting back is time consuming and it is difficult to come up with exact words to express your thoughts on a particular post.
With this in mind, I'd like to share a discovery I made this week thanks to Sarah Kat from Kitties Like Books Too and it is called Bloggers Commenting Back. Hosted by Alise at Readers in Wonderland this feature is a pledge taken by bloggers to reply to the comments left on their posts and to return the favor by commenting back and visiting other blogs on the list and posting a comment - sort of like a Pay it Forward for blog comments.

The process is simple: Visit the Bloggers Commenting Back post and sign up by filling in the linky form. You can also create a post on your blog spreading the word, visit some blogs on the list and/or grab the button.

This is a fantastic idea and I look forward to giving and receiving comments galore!

  1. Great tip! I'll surely check out Bloggers Commenting Back.

    Here's my musing:

  2. Oh great find! I'll have to keep that in mind when I start blogging again.

  3. Sounds like a really good idea :)

  4. This sounds like a great idea, thank you for sharing it

  5. I'll have to check it out.

I would like to respond to every comment on my blog but it doesn't work out that way for me. It's definitely time consuming. I would rather take the time to visit other people's blogs.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  6. I can get behind this. It's a good idea. Especially since I need to spend more time replying to comments.

  7. I'm going to head over and check it out. Thanks!
